Thanksgiving Campout ~ 98

Perkins Scout Reservation, Texas

60 FAMILY MEMBERS AND SCOUTS ATTEND ANNUAL EVENT!

60 Family members attended our November 1998 campout and family gathering at Perkins Scouting Reservation on November 20-22.  This was by far our largest gathering to date for this annual event.  Head Chef (and Assistant Scoutmaster) Jim Shultz began the yearly ritual by rising early and getting Committee Chairman Sam Graham's coffee just right for him.  This campout marks that last campout for two of our boys Steven (007) and David (Cutie) Freda.  We'll miss them!

The leaves were absolutely beautiful as fall ascended on to the Perkins Scout Reservation.  Assistant Scoutmaster Lee Ackley was a big help in maintaining a motley crew of almost 20 boys!

The lunch was absolute fabulous ...  a Jim and Jim specialty.   This year was our largest Thanksgiving lunch ever as we fed 60 people in the Perkins Scouting Reservation Dining Hall.  Mary Lou Lucero did a great job getting it together.

In an attempt to wear some of the energy out of the boys,  we took them on a walk to the Red River ....  AK-47 became bogged down in the bog and Josh Cox tried to follow suit.  Both were severely chastised by Mommy and or Daddy ....   ha ha ha
